This is the game of the year!!!

Now, I've been a firm believer in the theory that some women are smart... I pioneered that belief... But this one has me thinking...

Apparently, the dog she went out to walk was smart enough to get back home on its own. Maybe she hadn't been to training school? LOL

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

12.30.2002

I figure this is as good a time as any to start listing my resolutions for the coming year...

1. Get a job at a company whose policies and procedures I can agree with.
2. Win the NY Lotto.
3. Be more evil.
4. Master something new...

Those will do for starters...

The easiest way of appearing all-knowing and ineffably wise is to remain silent and let others ponder on what the intentions behind your actions (or inaction) might be... Regardless of whether you actually had a reason for what you did (or didn't do), if you don't reveal the reason, others will ponder it and come up with incredibly wise and reasoned arguments on why you acted in such a way. Some of these fools will even approach you later and tell you triumphantly that they have unraveled your designs. Neither confirm nor deny. But be always prepared to adopt one of these offered plans. Some, you will find, will be extremely good and practical, and best of all, free.

First human clone reported today, and by the Raelians, no less... I doubt it is the first human clone, although it probably will end up being the first official one in the history books if it's proven. How amusing that it was the Raelians... Just goes to show that when government meddles and intrudes by regulating and controling that which should be beyond the reach of government in the first place, it just empowers the loonies who are and always will be beyond the law.

Our forefathers envisioned a central government for the USA which would be as non-intrusive and limited in power over the states, and the citizens therein, as could be devised. Over the years, their vision was perverted and we now have the central government dictating what can or cannot be investigated, taught, spoken, thought, smoked, eaten... And the list goes on... Since the mainstream scientists and researchers must kowtow to the central government or lose the grants which allow them to investigate, the torch of innovation must, perforce, pass to the fringes. Those, like the Raelians, who are funded and staffed by whackos, and thus beyond Big Brother's grasp.

Funny... Heinlein foresaw it at least half a century ago...

It seems I have a granddaughter... lol

Well, I survived yet another Xmas... Once upon a time I used to get really sick on Xmas. It worked with the precision of a swiss watch... As soon as 12/24 rolled around, I'd come down with something, every year, a different something. I used to attribute it to the Christian sentiment being thrown out to the ether by so many billion people thinking thoughts of good cheer... Let me add that on the average, excepting those Xmas incidents, the most I usually get is a cold, and that every 2 or so years. I seem to be immune to diseases, for the most. Then, as the years went by, instead of being bedridden and feeling generally miserable on 12/24, I started to just get minor complaints. A cold, maybe... Or a bad cough, even... I said to myself, 'Oh, good... The humans are being less religious nowadays'. For the past 10 years or so, I have felt absolutely nothing at Xmas (besides gloom and disgust, I mean), so I take this as a sign that Christianity's days are ending, maybe? Time will tell... The whole pedophile priest thing seems to be one more nail in the coffin of what is indubitably one of the most logically inconsistent religions humanity has been able to come up with. Seriously... Cargo Cult makes more sense than the Bible... Anyway...

You all have fun, now...

Merry Imaginary Messiah's Birthday (or Christmas, as some prefer to call it) to one and all!!!!

12.23.2002

I drove to Hell and back this weekend. No, can't tell you where Hell is, I signed a Non Disclosure Agreement. Brought back an honest to badness demon skull, which is good, it will adorn my study, when I get around to buying a house and having one. Really good thing, though, was that I discovered a Colombian restaurant on my way back yesterday. A really good Colombian restaurant... Colombians eat well, let me tell you that... It's a shame it's way too far from my normal digs to even think of making it a regular stop.... I had a Bandeja Paisa, no surprise... Anytime I talk about Colombian food, it's a 95% chance that I had a Bandeja Paisa...

12.20.2002

This almost, but not quite, made me wish I was a Canadian... Talk about home delivery!!!

12.19.2002

I want someone to make me one of these for Christmas!!! Would make a great conversation piece...

Xmas pisses me off... Were I able to abolish it, I would...

I would cheerfully be the Grinch...

12.17.2002

Back in my time, we used to call this blackmail...

Personally, I think she was an awesome piece of ass, was mainly nice to other people (except for the bastard remnants of the once proud and noble House of Windsor) and certainly deserves to be left to R.I.P. One tends to expect better behavior from the Brits, and as with all things Diana, I feel they've been very American about it... Such a shame...

12.16.2002

The Xmas tree is up... And so are the kittens... They seem to have finally found their proper place, midway up the tree, nestled in the branches...

12.13.2002

Just to be perverse, I think I'll go out and buy a Christmas tree tonight... I wasn't really planning on having one, so help me, but there's a nice, blackish ornament I'm dying to put on a tree...

12.12.2002

I think I am at a cusp... I seriously feel as if I'm right on the edge of some massive inner change, and I can't for the life of me see if it will be for the better or for the worse. I don't much like feeling this way, though. More on this later, mayhaps... I must meditate 'pon it...

12.11.2002

Very amusing article on why D&D is so evil.... It's in Jack Chick's site, which is also extremely amusing all around... LMAO

12.10.2002

I just may keep this on all day long tomorrow, to exasperate those around me... Click on the horses...

12.09.2002

Vicious is what these Mexicans are...

I haven't taken a single day's vacation, much less anything towards the balance of accrued vacation I'm carrying, since I started out here in the US, a year and some months ago. For reasons that are irrelevant to the current discussion, I will be forced to take at least 2 weeks of vacation by 3/31/2003. Any suggestions? Submissions will be judged on originality and amusement factor, and I will probably carry out the chosen one... Deadline for submissions: 12/31/2002.

12.08.2002

Apologies for not having posted for a few days... My house's new owners took possession on Friday night and I've been catering to their every whim since... Wouldn't want them to get pissed off at me... I know what angry kittens are capable of...

12.05.2002

One hell of a decent snowfall today... I think the reason I enjoy winter so much is because of how happy I was during the last Ice Age... So winter reminds me of my, well, not youth, but let's call it middle age...

12.04.2002

I think I might have bi-polaroid mood disorder... I really enjoy taking pictures, but they're always crappy...

12.03.2002

Gotta love the chick... Especially when she puts out such a cool billboard... And even more so if she's waging war on her corporate bosses who are trying to prevent her from putting up the billboards for being, get this, pornographic... I can certainly understand corporate bullshit, having had to wade through so much of it in the past year or two...

12.02.2002

This speaks for me...

Hmmm... I'm currently reading one of the only two Heinlein books I've never read. Heinlein is one of my favorite authors and I really enjoy his tales. But the one I'm reading really disturbs me, which has prevented me from deciding whether I like the story or not. I'm only about a fifth of the way through it, so I might still come to terms with the disturbing part of the tale in time to decide whether it is to my liking. The other one I've never read is touted by almost everyone as a one of his best books, and I'll probably start it as soon as I finish the current one.
