Atrocities

The newspapers here are covering, rightly so, the atrocities that some of our military personnel have committed against innocent Iraqis, as well as probably guilty prisoners, Iraqi and otherwise.

We've seen the stupid, deplorable behavior at Abu Ghraib, where a handful of idiots completely disrespected their uniform by engaging in juvenile, hazing behavior.

More recently, it looks like some of our troops, in retaliation for the death of a fellow Marine, killed 24 innocent Iraqis in Haditha. Shameful. A disgrace to the uniform and to our country.

Even more recently, it came to light that a U.S. Army soldier raped a young Iraqi girl, then murdered her, along with her parents and sister. This atrocity, which happened in March of this year, may involve up to 3 other soldiers.

Has everyone who has read this post up to here seen the pattern? No, it's not the fact that they all involve U.S. military personnel as the alleged perpetrators. No, it's not that the targets involve Muslims, innocent or otherwise. The pattern is a little less obvious.

All these cases have come to light, been the subject of due outrage, been investigated, and the culprits properly punished or in the midst of having their day in court as we speak, where we can be sure they'll receive the proper penalties. There's a pattern for you.

Does that make the actions any less atrocious? No. Does it help the victims or their survivors? Probably not, especially in a culture that knows little about justice.

Now, contrast our atrocities with those committed by combatants on the other side.

Hostage Nick Berg is beheaded by Iraqi rebels. Where is the outrage in the Muslim press over this? I know I didn't see a whole lot of outrage in our Liberal press, so I assume there should be tit for tat and that Al Jazeera is still up in arms, years later, over this atrocity. No? Weird. And his is not the only beheading, by the way.

Arab terrorists fly planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and an empty field in Pennsylvania (this last thanks to the courageous actions of the passengers of that flight). I still remember the outraged reactions from the Arab world that day, September 11th of 2001. Hell, you can see their outrage for yourself, in this segment from CNN.

To all that we have to add the mentality these people operate under, where they celebrate each atrocity and train their children to do likewise.

And there's many more examples of their atrocities, but I won't turn my website into a showcase for their terrorist wares. I'll let you go and google for them, they're not hard to find.

So, before you continue buying into the Liberal media's brand of bullshit, where all we do is commit atrocity after atrocity against those poor, innocent Muslims, stop and think about it. Contrast our outrage against those on our side who commit atrocities, and our unwavering dedication to seeing them tried and punished, with the completely opposite reaction and sentiment in the Arab world regarding their atrocities.

Our atrocities are abnormal incidents, and we're ashamed of them. Their atrocities are the norm, and they lavish praise as well as try to emulate those who commit them.

Yet we're the bad guys... Only in the self-hating world of Liberals...
